A guide to viewing and reading an eBook

One of the great new inventions in the publishing world is the eBook, which is a digital book that you can read on a variety of devices. There are many ways to read eBooks and plenty of places to purchase them from, but this is our handy guide on our website so we’ll just concentrate on our eBooks. (If you need a more general guide to eBooks then perhaps this site will help)

What is an eBook? 

An eBook is text and images presented in a format which allows it to be read on a computer or handheld device. Many titles which are available in printed versions can be read as eBooks, including all of our wonderful printed children’s books.

How do I read an eBook?

There are many ways to read eBooks but here’s our top three:

a) On a portable eBook reading devices - These are small hand-held computers that mimic books.

b) On a PC or Mac using special software

c) On a handheld computer tablet (such as an iPad)

(Remember that children’s books are colourful and full of beautiful illustrations, so make sure to choose a way to read our eBooks with a device that allows this)

Choose your eBook platform

To get the most out of reading one of our eBooks you will need to have the right app on your device.

There are many applications (apps) designed for reading eBooks, and you may already have an eBook reading app installed on your device. If you’ve downloaded any eBook previously please check your device to see where they are viewed or stored.

If you don’t already have a favourite app we recommend Adobe Digital Editions as a simple way to view and read eBooks.

Choose and buy your eBook

Visit our shop and choose the eBook you’d like to buy. When you’ve gone through the full checkout process you will receive a link which will enable you to download your eBook.

How to download the eBook

After you’ve made your purchase the file is available for download in your ‘Order Confirmation’ page. You will also receive a standard order confirmation email, followed by an email containing a link to the file. Please download the eBook promptly as the unique link will expire 24 hours after the purchase.
